I will be the first one to admit this club is not in the best part of town. It is infact located in south east, not the best part of Washington. But it is 2 blocks from the Naval Yard Metro Station and you can actually see the Capitol building from the club. Plus if you go there for Buzz or Velvet someone is always willing to watch your car for a price.

This club was one called The Capitol Ballroom till it changeds its name. It has also changed the weekly rave it hosts. In the late '90s the local Fox station in Washington did a story about all the illegal drug use going on at the party. Well that part was called Sting and it got shut down. But Scott Henry and others worked hard to get the party back and rolling again. They where eventually able to re-open the party, but now its called Buzz.

Every Friday from 10pm-6am hosting the best in local, national and inter-national djs

Because of Sting the security is usually pretty tight here. I have seen the best DJs, Static-X, Darkstar Orchestra, Lake Trout, etc... at the club and security is usually tight. You have to take everything out of your pockets and usually have to throw something away (gum, candy, chap stick, etc..). They also do a turo search of you. People still manage to get shit in, you just have to be a little ballsy/lucky.

Acousticly it kinda depends. During the weekly raves the sound is incredible. The bass is full and you can clearly hear it without distortion. The trebles also are loud and clear. During concerts its kind of a different story. They don't use the Buzz speakers but instead irrect tall speaker towers on either side of the stage. When they do this its gets pretty damn loud. There has not been a show yet where I have walked out of there without ringing in my ears.
